"What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?"
"The primary objective is to explore and interrogate the interplay between the internal and external beach landscape. A palette of raw concrete, glass and zinc offset with the warmth of timber and woven cane screens create an environment of contrasting ‘elegance’ and ‘rawness’, mirroring the tension of the fluidity of the sea and the stillness of the sand. Thus, there is a continual suspension between movement and stillness, internal and external. The primary joinery pieces are geometrical and solid – they interact with each other to become cabinets, cupboards, stairs, tables and spaces. "
